Thank you for your interest in working for Nottingham Trent University.
The University is home to almost 24,000 students and we are one of the leading universities for graduate employability. Our strong partnerships with employers are key to this success and many of our courses are designed in collaboration with business and industry to prepare students for career success. As a result, a number of our graduates occupy senior positions in companies across the globe.
We have invested over £130m into our three campuses in recent years, building towards achievement of our goal to be the university of choice. We encourage our students to engage in all aspects of university life - gaining the skills, knowledge and self-confidence to succeed in their chosen profession and make a positive impact on the people they meet and the societies in which they live.
At NTU we thrive on success and we are constantly being recognised for our efforts and forward-thinking. Our commitment to listening - and responding - to our students has also contributed to an impressive undergraduate retention rate. The House of Commons Public Accounts Committee highlighted NTU's strong performance as judged against benchmarks set by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE). It paid particular tribute to our in-depth research into students' views.
In 2008, we celebrated success once again when the results of the recent Research Assessment Exercise showed that 74% of research activity submitted by NTU achieved international status, with 8% classed as world-leading. This led to a 75% increase in our research funding allocation from the HEFCE. The RAE results are a platform on which NTU now wants to build as we continue to pursue scholarly endeavours which shape lives and society and make a crucial contribution to the intellectual and economic health of our city and region.
The positions we are recruiting for are critical posts in the University. We are looking for inspirational, creative individuals to drive the Schools and the University forward as we enter an exciting time of unprecedented growth, vision and ambition. You will have the ability to provide leadership - in teaching activities, research endeavours and on the management of corporate business and administrative responsibilities. Given the challenges these posts represent, we are looking for individuals with broad intellectual interests, top-tier credentials and the capacity to actualise a bold vision and ambition for the Schools and the University. Each position comes with its own particular set of responsibilities, and you will have to demonstrate that your ambition matches the needs and aspirations for your chosen role.
Fundamental to your success in these posts will be your strategic capacity, with a track record of excellence, outstanding communication skills and the ability to inspire and galvanise high performing teams. With a clear focus on management, you will have a strong academic background where appropriate for the role and you will demonstrate an ability to be an outstanding ambassador for the University.
If you think you have what it takes to play a lead role in the future of Nottingham Trent University, please look at the information on this site.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
